Unemployment, as measured by those claiming Job Seekers Allownace (JSA) have fallen again in Blackburn with Darwen. The rate stands at 4.4%, There were 87 fewer claimants in April compared with March and 106 fewer comapred with April 2012.
Labour run Blackburn with Darwen Council have yet again refused to agree to the introduction of 20 mph limits on our residential roads. Labour Councillors turned down yet another Lib Dem motion calling on them to act. This comes after they were found to be the worst area for road accidents to children in recently published report
Blackburn with darwen have come bottom of the league in a recent publication highlighting the health of local youngsters. The respected Child and Maternal Health Observatory puts us worst for road accidents (killed and seriously injured) to children. You can see the full report here.
