Whitehall Liberal Democrat Councillors are looking for a new site for the War Memorial saved from outside the former Park Rd. Church, Bolton Rd. Darwen.

Late last year your Liberal Democrat Councillors, David & Karimeh Foster, persuaded the Council to keep the War Memorial from outside the old Park Road Methodist Church. It was due to go to a special site in the Midlands. Since then it has been in storage waiting for a new site.

Local people are keen for it to stay in the Whitehall area. The Councillors have been looking with Council officials at alternative sites and 4 sites within the old Cemetery have been identified.

The preferred site is on the site of the old Chapel inside the cemetery.

The Friends of Whitehall Park have been consulted and are supporting the move.
