Lib Dems reveal costs of Secretary of State's visit and billions wasted in Iraq

9 Apr 2006

Local Liberal Democrats have revealed that the cost of the recent visit of USA Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, was over £175,000.

Local Liberal Democrats refused to be part of the civic party at the Town Hall to show their opposition to the War in Iraq.

In a recent leaflet they revealed that it has cost UK taxpayers well over £4.4 billion . We could have used the money to build 44 new hospitals, or pay for 10,000 extra teachers for 10 years, or immunise every child in the developing world for 2 years.
