Labour fail to appoint any Darwen Councillors to Executive positions

22 May 2016

Liberal Democrats have criticised the ruling Labour Group on Blackburn with Darwen Council for failing to appoint any of their Darwen Labour Councillors to Executive positions. The Executive makes most of the important decisions affected the borough and many of the decisions are made solely by an individual Executive Member (Portfolio Holder). The responsibilities of each portfolio holder can be seen here.

Lib Dem Leader, Cllr David Foster said,"Despite having 8 seats in Darwen Labour have yet again failed to find one suitable councillor from their Darwen ranks to be an Executive Member. It is important that the voice of Darwen is heard when decisions are being made. When will they learn their lesson?"
