Improvement works at Grimehills

Blackburn with Darwen Council is set carry out vital improvement works to a stretch of Roman Road at Grimehills Bridge.

The drainage and road resurfacing works will start on Monday, February, 8.

Motorists are advised that Roman Road will be closed temporarily from Grimehills Bridge for up to four weeks.

There will be no through route between Edgworth and Darwen in either direction along Roman Road.

A diversion route has been set up via Green Arms Road, Bolton Road, Cemetery Road, Watery Lane, Pole Lane and Blacksnape Road. Customers approaching from Edgworth and Bolton should follow the diversion.

Access from Hoddlesden, Darwen and Blacksnape to the Crown and Thistle will not be affected by the closure.

All local businesses will be open as usual during the works.
