Connor Plumley is standing for election in Blackburn for the first time. He is passionate about green issues and wants to see the local council treat the climate emergency more seriously. Connor graduated with a Masters degree from the University of Central Lancashire.
He is also a strong campaigner on LGBTQ+ rights and is wants the UK to maintain close links with Europe.
The Tory Candidate in Darwen South, Andrew Walker, has now been suspended by their National Party pending an investigation into his social media posts which showed support for the politics of far right extremist Tommy Robinson and saying stabbing former Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn should get you knighted.
The Good Law Project had to go to court to force the government to reveal details of some of the contracts rushed through during the COVID crisis. These contracts were awarded to companies with connections to the Conservative Party or via intermediaries with these connection and were for hundreds of millions of pounds.

They report that Mr Walker said in a post "Stabbing Corbyn would get you knighted in my book"
A complaint was made against him in 2018 but he resigned before it could be investigated.
He has since rejoined the Conservative Party and they clearly thought he was a fit person to represent them as a candidate.
The local leader of the Conservatives has refused to comment on this and it seems Mr Walker is not willing to apologise publicly for his remarks.
The Leaders of 6 opposition parties in Parliament, including Lib Dem Leader Ed Davy, are calling for a debate in Parliament on Boris Johnson's failure to tell the truth in Prime Minister Questions time and other debates in Parliament. They want an enquiry into whether he has breached the rule that deliberately misleading Parliament amount to a contempt of Parliament.
